Michael Bayless has been teaching, recording and touring as a professional guitarist since he was appointed head of the first guitar department at The Master’s University in Los Angeles, California at the age of 19.

His education spans many prestigious Universities including University of Southern California (USC), University of North Texas, Montana State University, and was later accepted to NYU and offered a music scholarship to Oxford University, England. He was also chosen as a scholarship student by two-time Grammy® nominated artist and Andres Segovia protege, Christopher Parkening.

Michael has studied with many other top names in guitar – including world renowned David Tanenbaum, Grammy® award winners, Scott Tenant and William Kanengiser of The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, David Russell, and David Brandon, who studied with Chet Atkins and is co-author of The Parkening Method.

Notable performances include tours of Great Britain and the United States, National Public Radio and NBC television, as well as many other solo and band projects.

Michael’s dedication to guitar and teaching is not limited to Classical, he also specializes in Blues, Rock, Acoustic and Heavy Metal. Whether you want to play Bach or shred like Eddie Van Halen, Michael is one of the most diverse and experienced players and teachers in Southern California, Seattle and Utah.
