Jordan’s love of music began in elementary school with piano and, in junior high and high school, in choir and musicals. He received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education at Utah State University in 2014 and then his Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Kansas in 2018. He has taught school (secondary through college) for 8 years mainly in Salt Lake, Davis & Weber counties where he was able to do what he loves: inspire a love of music in students! As a member of the Chamber Singers at both universities, he has performed across the country and in China and Costa Rica. He continues to perform in local ensembles and has been involved as music director for school productions and as director of the Heritage Singers at This is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City. Jordan loves working with students of all ages and has a particular love for junior high and high schoolers – it’s fun to help guide them through vocal changes! Regardless of the age, he works to build foundations with his students while keeping it fun, interesting and relatable to them so they can find their own enjoyment of music that will stay with them the rest of their life.
