Day Murray Music is happy to announce that Barbara Gill is returning this November for another Singing Time Music Workshop!

Primary is a place of JOY and can be enriched with a formula for teaching, reviewing, and rotating songs during the month and for the year! Learn techniques and tips from seasoned music leader, Barbara Gill, to make singing time simply magical and musical.

Barbara Bryner Gill, NCTM, enjoys singing, and playing piano and organ. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Master of Arts in Musicology from the University of Utah. She is certified in all three levels of Kodaly methodology and pedagogy at Intermuse Academy at Brigham Young University, specializing in children’s choirs. Barbara has been Primary Music Leader multiple times and Stake Primary Music Specialist.

Barbara enjoys teaching private piano lessons and Let’s Play Music classes. She directed the Orchard Children’s Choir for 11 years and co-conducted the Utah Youth Singers for four years. In administrative roles, Barbara was the Marketing Assistant for the Virtuoso Series and Administrative Assistant for the Maurice Abravanel Visiting Distinguished Composers Series. During her 27 years with Utah Chamber Artists Barbara was the Assistant to the Executive Director, Librarian, and sang for 15 years. She is currently President of the Davis Chapter of Utah Music Teachers Association and served as past president of the Jordan River Chapter, state communications committee chair, and conference committee over published materials. Barbara lives in North Salt Lake with her husband and four children (three boys and a girl, whom she named after a concert hall). She performs regularly with the Gill Gals.

Tickets for the workshop are $20 each, and as usual there is an option to attend online through Facebook Live or attend in person in the Day Murray Music Recital Hall.
