I want to start off by acknowledging the very unfortunate news that our friends over at Daynes Music are closing their doors after an impressive 164 years in business. We are incredibly sad to see them go as they have done so much for their community. Daynes’s closure serves as a reminder that even the longest run businesses are not guaranteed to last forever, no matter how much we wish them to.

As another family owned and run music store, we at Day Murray Music would love to continue serving the needs of our community, both at home in Murray and by serving the world at large for their sheet music needs. This year, 2026, marks our 80th year in business, and we would love to continue being a beacon for music lovers for another 80 years to come!

While Daynes Music’s closure shuts some doors for their customers, as the saying goes “When one door closes, another one opens.” Day Murray Music would like to extend the offer of being that open door for the patrons of Daynes Music. We have a huge selection of sheet music (over 200,000 titles!), a lovely Recital Hall and plenty of Practice Rooms available for rent, and so much more.
