Josie was accepted to the School of Music at Brigham Young University on scholarship, where she pursued a degree in Violin Performance under the direction of Monte Belknap and Alex Woods. Josie performed in the BYU Philharmonic Orchestra and various BYU Chamber Ensembles and was featured in BYU Magazine, BYU-TV, and Sharlene Habermeyer’s book, Good Music Brighter Children. Since 2007, Josie Long has taught private violin lessons, clinics & workshops, and group lessons. It has been her goal to create a supportive learning environment for students of all ages and abilities. Repertoire is drawn from a variety of genres for a broad musical education, tailored to each student’s interests and goals.
